YouTube Channels

  1. hbomberguy
  2. Multiple-hour long commentaries that rival documentaries in research and rival established comedians in humour.

  3. CGP Grey
  4. An educational channel that focuses on details, polish and wit to convey theoretically boring concepts in a fun and engaging way.

  5. HivemindTV
  6. The (superlative) show on the internet. They discuss music, pop culture, movies, sport, but also might be one of the most cursed YouTube channels to exist. Even if they're not the best channel ever they are definitely the ones I watch the most.

  7. Defunctland
  8. Documentaries about theme parks. I don't need to say more.

  9. Nobody Asked Podcast
  10. I cannot begin to explain how much these two idiots make me laugh. I actually can't watch them that often because I only let myself watch them when I'm being productive in order to give myself motivation to be productive, because it means I get to observe greatness.

Honorable mention: Cinema Therapy. In-depth analysis of films from both the filmmaking and psychological perspective. A particularly refreshing watch every time I watch them because in a sea of youtubers who love to rant about films with no real evidence to back up their claims, the two guys behind Cinema Therapy are experts in their fields and know how to convey their thoughts and facts well.

Fics/Series I've read on ao3

I do not apologise for any smut content that is included here. It's ao3. It's like complaining that the ocean is wet. I also am only including the most important info and tags here, you can find out the rest yourself by clicking the links :)

  1. a bird in your teeth by rushvalleys
  2. Chapters/Words: 1 chapter, 2094 words

    Fandom: Legend of Zelda

    Relationships: Link/Zelda

Tags: Post-Canon, Animal Metaphors, Getting Together, Fairy Tale Elements

    Summary:

A ghost told Link a story once. In this story, everyone died on a burning field.

There were two survivors –– the lovelorn princess and her battered knight, cursed in cruel mercy to a century in purgatory and a memory so shattered and broken that it was impossible to put the shards back where they fit.

He learned atop the Temple of Time, the dilapidated ruins where his ancestors’ ancestors’ ancestors once stood, that Hyrule had sustained itself on nothing more than stories for ten thousand years. Evil collected underneath the marble floors of Hyrule Castle for centuries. Hyrule had almost unlimited time to find a way to stop it, and yet they waited for two characters out of a fable to save them. Why was anyone surprised when the myth couldn’t sustain itself? Salvation is not the job of two children, regardless of the lofty titles placed over their heads.

But this isn’t a story about a knight. It’s not a story about a princess. This is a story about the aftermath of stories.

This is, ostensibly, a story about a dog.

Link, Zelda, and a never-ending story.

  4. Chapters/Words: 1 chapter, 11,547 words

Fandom: Superman: Son of Kal-El (DC Comics)

    Relationships: Jon Kent/Jay Nakamura

Tags: Chronic Pain, written by disabled author, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder - PTSD, Angst with a Happy Ending, Hurt/Comfort, Angst and Hurt/Comfort, Disabled Character

    Summary:

"Thank you," Jay said quietly, looking down at his feet. "For… for spending today with me. And actually, y'know, caring."

It was two sentences, but it was so earnest and vulnerable that Jon had to hold back a wave of emotions at it. Once again, it was something. Jon smiled warmly, and pulled Jay into a quick kiss.

Jon suddenly felt a wave of determination overcome him. To push that something, and to tell Jay-

    "I'm worried about you."

    --

Jay Nakamura has been dealing with pain alone for a long time. But, despite his best efforts to continue dealing with it alone, Jonathan Kent will do anything to break down his walls.

It just so happens Jay likes Jon too much to keep him out forever.

    Summary:

The internet has decided that Ilya Rozanov is absolutely, definitely, 100% banging a Hollander.

They’ve got photo evidence. Multiple sightings. Instagram stories from the same café. The man stayed OVERNIGHT at the Hollander residence.

It’s the most legendary power move in NHL history: seduce your rival’s hot mom to assert dominance. There’s just one tiny problem with this theory. Ilya’s fucking a Hollander, all right. Just … not that one.

Or in which Ilya’s boyfriend's mother keeps adopting him, the internet keeps assuming the worst, and Shane Hollander is having the worst month of his entire life. At least until he does something that breaks hockey forever.

Music Albums

  1. Chet Baker Sings by Chet Baker
  2. Girl, who hurt you? (Cocaine)

  3. I didn't mean to haunt you by Quadeca
  4. As Quadeca said himself, this is the best posthumous album to be released, and it's by an artist who is still alive.

  5. Not your Muse by Celeste
  6. The songs themselves are so simple but they are powerful for not being weighed down by subtext and innuendo. Every lyric is raw and potent. This album is water in a sea of soft drink; soft drink is flavourful and exciting but water will quench your thirst.

  7. Pan AM Blues by Fizzy Blood
  8. This is pop music for the apocalypse. An disco-infused album to listen to as you dance over the ashes of society and burn your feet on the charcoal. This is an album that defines humanity as an experience that ends with death.

  9. Titanic Rising by Weyes Blood
  10. If I had a nickel for every album on this list by an artist with Blood in its name that I felt described the human experience in an emotional and profound way, I would have two nickels. But this album is more folksy and down to earth and less tethered to torture.

Sports

Some of these I've played, some of these I think just seem cool or are fun to watch.

  1. Futins
  2. Futins is a popular Brazilian sport, explained very simply; football (soccer), but on ROLLERBLADES. I need someone to start a team in Naarm immediately.

  3. Hockey
  4. I love all varieties. Field, Ice, especially roller. It is just the amalgamation of humanity's constant urge to whack thing with stick.

  5. Roller Disciplines
  6. An overarching term that described any sports that use wheels. Includes skateboarding, BMX, WCMX, and any sports that use rollerskates and rollerblades. My favourites are roller derby, hockey, artistic inline and slalom. I also like the ice rink alternates but given I can rollerblade way better than I can ice skate I tend to enjoy the roller sports more.

  7. Badminton
  8. As stated above, whacking things is fun. I've tried tennis and it's not the same. Badminton is much more fun.

  9. Skateboarding (but only when women do it)
  10. No, but really. When the last summer Olympics happened I did not tune in to any sport except women's skateboarding. I love gay people

Drinks

  1. Cappuccino when the barista knows the appropriate amount of chocolate to put on top (it better be enough that I get confused on whether or not it's a mocha)

  2. KFC Krushers (I miss you more than most dead people)

  3. Lemon Lime Bitters. It's classic. It's easy to find. It's my favourite thing to order at a bar after everyone has ordered alcoholic so that I can feel like the meme of the dog wearing a rainbow propeller hat and holding a lollipop.

  4. Water when you've just woke up sweaty and confused and your phone is out of battery

  5. Chocolate Up&Go but only the protein ones and only the ones in the little cartons, not the bottle. I drink both but something hits about the mini ones after they've been in the fridge for a while. It's like when you freeze water until it's just about to turn solid and then you smack it against something and watch it turn to ice, that's how it feels in my mouth when I drink those.

Songs to listen to when you're sad

Warning: these may make you feel worse

  1. Tell me a Joke by Quadeca

  2. U TRIED THAT THING WHERE UR HUMAN by Quadeca

  3. Strange by Celeste

  4. Birthday by Maisie Peters

  5. Enough for You by Quadeca
